Abstract

The thesis work predated the discovery of the Higgs Boson in July 2012, with a measured mass of ~125 GeV. Prior to the discovery, much computational analysis such as this thesis was made, using leading Monte Carlo-based, Quantum Chromo Dynamics event generators, sweeping ranges of masses for the Higgs boson for experimentally observable signatures of strong statistical significance. This thesis work studied in simulation how two observation channels would perform, and provided recommendations for their application.
